You can save as much as 10% a year on your heating and cooling bills by simply turning your thermostat back 10% to 15% for 8 hours. You can do this automatically without sacrificing comfort by installing an automatic setback or programmable thermostat.
| • |
Save between 5% and 10% on your heating bills by using natural heating. Open the blinds and curtains in your house on sunny days to let the sun's rays warm your rooms. At night, close them to keep the heat inside. If you feel chilly, add a layer of clothing before turning the heat up. (A loose-fitting wool or wool-blend sweater will usually do the trick.)
| • |
You can also save between 5% and 10% by placing door snakes (or rolled-up towels) across the bottom of doors that lead outdoors or to basements and attics. Keep the damper on your fireplace closed when not in use.
| • |
Have your system tuned up annually and save up to 10%. We'll adjust your unit to perform at maximum efficiency and correct any minor problems before they become big ones. A tune-up can extend the life of your equipment.

Q: Why should I get a service contract?
When you pay for service as you go, you never know when a big, expensive bill will come. Customers who need only a tune-up one year can have three or four service calls the next. Having a service plan eliminates these ups and downs and allows you to rest easy, knowing things are being tended to. It also increases the likelihood that small problems will be taken care of before they become big ones.
Q: What about the cost?
Every system should be tuned up once a year (it saves you up to 10% on your oil bills and prevents other problems from developing). Our normal tune-up costs about $180.
Now consider what happens if your system needs repair. Including labor, a typical burner or blower motor costs over $140. A new circulator or an installed clock thermostat will set you back about $200. Certain valves and aquastats go for more than $300. And if any repairs are done after normal business hours, the labor costs climb to time and a half.
Our service plans cover all of this and much more. You never pay for overtime labor no matter when your system breaks down. For less than the price of one cup of coffee a day, you can eliminate worrying about virtually anything that can go wrong with your heating system.
Q: Which contract is best for me?
It depends on the level of protection you’re comfortable with. Our Value Plan covers the most common repairs that face oil customers and includes a professional tune-up. Our No Surprises Plan goes a few steps further and handles repairs that are less frequent but extremely costly.
Plus, the No Surprises Plan includes coverage for your boiler or furnace in the event of a complete breakdown.
Q: Is all the service done by your own people?
Yes. We maintain a full-time staff of highly trained technicians who continually attend courses to stay up-to-date with the latest technology.
Q: Will I be charged extra for after-hours calls?
No. On emergency service calls you are entitled to free labor on all parts that are covered under the contract.
Q: Will I be charged for labor on parts not covered by the service contract?
Yes. (Although there’s almost nothing the No Surprises Plan doesn’t cover.)
Q: There are parts on these contracts which my system doesn’t have. Am I paying for them?
No. You’re only paying for the parts you have. For example, a furnace system has a blower that sends hot air through the vents, while a boiler has a circulator that sends hot water through pipes. The price of the contract takes this into account.
Q: Can I break up the contract payments?
Yes. We can include your annual service contract fee in our convenient monthly EASYPay plan, but you are still responsible for the whole year. We also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover for either plan.
Q: What should I do if I have more than one burner, heating unit or any other special situation?
Call us and we’ll design coverage that works for you.
Q: What about oil tanks?
The No Surprises Plan includes an allowance toward a new tank if you need to replace your current one. If you’re concerned about the remote possibility of a leak, please call us about your options.
Q: How do I get started?
Just give us a call or send us an email. If we are unfamiliar with your system, we may have to schedule an inspection or repairs before your coverage will begin. Your coverage will start when we receive your payment.
Please don’t wait until you have a problem and face a big bill. Take care of this now, and rest easy all year long.
If you have any questions, call us at 948-2600 or toll free at (800) 339-4411.
